Trump's Letter to Epstein: A Final Warning for America

On August 5th, 2025, the House Oversight Committee moved to subpoena various documents from the Epstein estate as part of its investigation into United States v. Jeffrey Epstein and United States v. Ghislaine Maxwell. The Committee set a firm deadline of September 8th for the estate’s attorneys, Daniel H. Weiner and Daniel Ruzumna, to submit all relevant materials.

Among the records provided, ranging from contact books to the late convict’s testament, was the long-anticipated 2003 “birthday book,” written by convicted sex offender Ghislaine Maxwell for Epstein’s 50th birthday. Included were contributions from notable public figures such as former President Bill Clinton and Epstein's former lawyer, Alan Dershowitz, as well as a letter seemingly written and signed by Donald Trump, which has only thrust the President further into hot water. The cryptic note addressed to Epstein is filled to the brim with sexual innuendos and concerning allusions to underage girls, raising a greater concern over the President’s potential conspiracy with one of the most deplorable and perverted men of our generation. Here is a look at key features of the document.

The letter is structured as a fictional dialogue between “Donald” and “Jeffery,” written between the lines of a provocative sketch depicting a woman’s nude form. But with a closer look, the shape of the body and size of the breasts actually suggest that the drawing was of a young girl rather than a grown woman. Furthermore, President Trump’s signature at the bottom of the page seems to be written purposefully in a large, squiggly format to resemble pubic hair.

In the imagined conversation between Epstein and himself, Trump states that the two have “a lot in common,” potentially referring to their shared taste in younger women, given the surrounding context of the note. Trump also goes on to write the phrase, “enigmas never age.” A current theory circulating online suggests that the word enigma is actually an anagram for the French word gamine, meaning young girl. Reportedly, this code word was used frequently within Epstein’s circle, making this interpretation a likely explanation.

The implied connotations of Trump’s phrasing are deplorable, but not surprising considering the comments he has made about his own daughter, referring to her as hot, voluptuous, and a real piece of ass,” when she was only 16. And let's not overlook the President’s infamously derogatory remarks in the 2005 Access Hollywood tape, where he described forcing himself on a married woman. President Trump has a long history of sexual misconduct, and no amount of backpedalling by his administration can erase that.

While the White House has continued to push back on these allegations, it is difficult to dismiss the President's potential involvement in the birthday book, especially given his clearly documented 15 years of friendship with the notorious sex-trafficker. In addition to several verified photos of the two men together, Trump’s name has appeared in both Epstein’s contact books and flight logs numerous times.

Earlier this summer, in a clear and desperate attempt to distance himself from both Epstein and the increasingly anticipated Epstein files, the President put out a statement saying that the two had fallen out over a dispute involving a young woman at his Mar-a-Lago spa. Trump vehemently added that Epstein “stole” from the President, though whether or not he was implying that the woman was trafficked remains unclear.

The evidence against Trump is simply too overwhelming to be ignored. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt wrote in an online post that “...it’s very clear President Trump did not draw this picture, and he did not sign it.” Yet, the signature in the letter closely resembles those found in other personal letters he has sent through the years. Furthermore, numerous other sketches made by Trump, both auctioned and archived, show an undeniable similarity in style and stroke.

In yet another futile attempt to intimidate the media and suppress the freedom of the press, President Trump filed a $10 billion defamation lawsuit against The Wall Street Journal, which first broke the story of the birthday book, along with Rupert Murdoch and two other reporters involved. As a whole, the Trump administration's response to the release of the letter has been nothing short of baseless and tactless, further eroding its professionalism.

Just days after the House Committee initially released the birthday book, an even more incriminating image surfaced in the media. The photograph in question depicts Jeffrey Epstein holding a large check for $22,500, signed by a “DJTRUMP.” According to the accompanying caption written by another Mar-a-Lago member, Epstein had sold a fully depreciated young girl to Trump. However, there has been little coverage on this discovery so far, most likely in response to pressure from the Trump administration. And after the targeted firing of Steven Colbert and the suspension of Jimmy Kimmel, two late-night hosts who exercised their right to free speech, can we blame the media for being afraid?

But what does all of this actually mean for the future of Trump’s presidency and the justice for Epstein’s victims? Unfortunately, most likely nothing. It’s hard to believe that the radical political cult surrounding the president will waver in their support following this scandal. If 34 felony counts and two impeachments weren’t enough to change their minds, why would this situation be any different? No other president in history has maintained such a dismal record and remained in office, so what would make this time any different?

While the UK’s ambassador to the US, Peter Mandelson, was removed over his links to Epstein, it’s not as easy to expel a man so deeply embedded in our own nation. Donald Trump is a cancerous infection, blackening the very heart of America and spreading his hatred into every home. If the President’s supporters continue to stand by him with steadfast devotion even as he continuously disregards human rights and constitutional freedoms, what would it possibly take to shake their high regard for the man?

Trump’s letter to Epstein is a final warning for America. If we fail to wake up and take action now, the President and his administration will continue transforming our once-admirable democracy into a repressive autocracy. Justice served on President Trump is not only vital for our nation, but also for the acknowledgment of the more than 1,000 confirmed victims of Jeffrey Epstein.

At a time when the free press is under serious threat, we must all stand up and speak out against the growing wave of political corruption sweeping across the United States. The future of our democracy depends on our willingness to hold individuals in high positions of power accountable; silence is no longer an option.
